I've hiked at Shawnee Mountain several times now. It's conveniently located not too far from my home and offers three different trails ranging from easy to moderate difficulty. If you complete all three, it adds up to about 10 miles in total. Today, we opted for a loop hike that was approximately 5 miles long, and it took us just over 2 hours to complete.
It doesn’t have the dog policy listed anywhere. We made one hour trip with my pup and we saw the warning sign just in front of the entrance!! You need to list your dog policy more clearly so we can plan not to go there!!!!
Great running trail that was recently repaved. Beautiful view of the mountain. Basketball courts are outdoor and aren’t terrible. One rim is broken as of review.
Baseball fields are the best in the county.
Plenty of parking.
Well maintained park. Nice tennis courts and walking trails. Plenty of parking. Only suggestion would be add some benches by the tennis court and inside the courts for those waiting on courts and those playing and add numbers to the courts so when you reserve you know which court to use.
This is an older park but it is well kept and is great for Baseball and Softball. There is a .9 mile paved walking trail that offers a pretty easy stroll around.
Always great experience
Head west around the southern shores of Lake Sidney Lanier and you’ll reach Sawnee Mountain Park in roughly half an hour of road travel.
Four times the size of Settles Bridge Park, it is home to a number of attractions.
A good place for visitors to the region to start is the dedicated visitor center, which has information detailing the natural habitats, flora, and fauna of the area.
At the top of the preserve’s system of trails, those who can should check out Indian Seats, which provides outstanding views towards the North Georgia Mountains.
Great place for softball
